Custom Fields were added to AssetAccountant as a way to add unique values that typically apply to a single asset or lease.

Custom fields are unique fields that do not affect journal data in any way.

You can add as many custom fields as you like to your assets.

Typically you may include fields such as VIN, serial number, colour, user, warranty date, URL data, etc.

Whilst this is an extremely valuable feature, it is not a primary function of AssetAccountant.

Although AssetAccountant is primarily a fixed asset financial accounting automation engine, we are adding new fixed asset tracking and fixed asset management functionality progressively.
