Your AssetAccountant subscription is billed through Stripe, our payment provider. You can update your own card details at any time using the secure Stripe billing portal. You do not need to send us any card details to do this.

Use this article when your card has expired, been replaced or reissued, when a payment has failed, or when you simply want to switch to a different card.

Before you start

You will need:

  • The email address your AssetAccountant invoices are sent to. The portal uses this address to identify your account, so another address will not find your subscription.
  • The new card you want to use.

Step 1: Open the billing portal

Go to the AssetAccountant billing portal:

Step 2: Verify your email address

Enter your billing email address. Stripe will email you a secure one-time link or code to confirm it is you. Open that email and follow the link to sign in.

If nothing arrives within a few minutes, check your junk or spam folder.


Step 3: Add your new card

Once you are in the portal, add the new card under your payment methods and enter the card number, expiry date, CVC and billing postcode as prompted.

Your card details are entered directly into Stripe's secure environment. AssetAccountant never sees or stores your full card number.


Step 4: Set the new card as the default

Make sure the card you want to be charged is set as the default payment method. If a card is saved but not set as default, it will not be used for your next invoice.


Step 5: Let us know once you are done

Reply to your support ticket, or email us through support@asset.accountant, to confirm you have updated your details. Please include only the last 4 digits of the card you want us to keep on file.

We will then check everything looks correct at our end and remove any older or unused cards from your account, so there is no chance of the wrong card being charged.


Please never send us your full card number, expiry date or CVC. We do not need them, and we will never ask you for them. The last 4 digits are all we need to identify the right card.
