In AssetAccountant, you can add a lease to an existing asset using the "Attach Lease" menu option from the Actions menu, see below:

This will bring up the side panel to allow you to enter the lease details. In this first screen, enter the lease start and end dates and then click the "Generate Schedule" button (for a custom schedule, see the details at the bottom of this article):

Enter the lease payment information and press "Generate Schedule":

If you are happy with this schedule click "Use Schedule"  and then "Save" on the next screen.

The asset now has a lease attached:

The next journal will create this lease in the accounting system in line with your lease GL codes. If necessary, the balancing side of this journal will be posted to your clearing account for offset against the relevant account in your accounting system.

Note that if you set the asset up and then attach the lease before posting a journal then the clearing accounts will offset if they are the amounts financed and capitalised are the same. If they are different then the balance will be posted to the clearing account.

Custom Schedules

If you have custom schedules (i.e. non regular payments) or you want to use an existing lease schedule then click the "Custom" button before entering the lease details at the second step above:

You can type in the payments or copy and paste a schedule from a spreadsheet.
