AssetAccountant™ supports a variety of ways to classify and sort your asset register. Among these are Parent/Child Asset Groups. This allows users to split their asset groups under a parent group heading. This is often used as an additional way to categorise depreciation journaling.

To set up a parent group you must already have asset groups in your register. From the Assets page (1), select the pen icon of the asset group you would like to put into a parent group (2).

In Asset Group Settings, type in the name of the parent group in the Parent Group box (1), then click Save (2).

When you go back to the Assets screen, you will see your asset group housed under the newly created parent group.
